The Vivid Light Festival Photo Tour shall be a photographic exploration led by US based guest photographer Jeff Cable. He will lead you to some spectacular places with many insider secrets in and around Sydney on the East coast of Australia where you shall visit and photograph iconic sites in and around Sydney. You will have the oportunity to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge, join The Apeture Club on an iconic tour around the Sydney Harbour to take amazing images of such Sydney icons as the Sydney Opera House, Bondi Beach, the Rocks then view the night lights of Sydney during dinner on your last night of your tour cruising on a luxury Catamaran on Sydney Harbour.
During this tour our photographers will teach you photographic techniques like how to comprehend the "scene" settings and other elementary controls. During your stay in Sydney you will attend the Vivid Light Festival that transforms Sydney into a wonderland of 'light art' sculptures, innovative light installations and grand-scale projections for all to enjoy. It is a magical celebration of light-design excellence and the world's largest outdoor 'art-gallery': a unique Vivid Sydney experience. Vivid Light engages lighting artists, designers and manufacturers from around Australia and the world to illuminate, interpret and transform Sydney’s urban spaces through their creative vision.

Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments, Darling Harbour
Overlooking Darling Harbour, Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments offer stylish accommodation with cooking and laundry facilities. Situated in a historic 19th century building, many apartments offer stunning harbour or city views.
Sydney’s famous Darling Harbour is only 2 minutes’ walk from Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments Darling Harbour. The vibrant district of Chinatown is a 10-minute walk. All air-conditioned apartments feature a dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. Each apartment has a spacious seating area with cable TV. Guests can work out at the fitness centre, or get travel advice from the tour desk.
A coffee shop and a grocery store are located within the complex.
Day 1 - 26th May
Arrive at Sydney International Airport then you will be transported too your accommodation where you will check in.
6pm - The group meets for drinks and nibbles at the Glenmore Hotel to discuss the upcoming photo tour with our tour photographer Jeff Cable.
7:30pm - This year’s magical journey starts at The Rocks with the Lighting of The Sails and then the Vivid Light Walk begins. (Drinks & Nibbles)
Day 2 - 27th May
8am – Breakfast
11am – Meet at the Luna Park entrance for a photowalk down to a secret garden that will provide an amazing shot across the harbour. 1pm - For a piece of history we will make our way to Sydney’s Botanical Gardens to Mr’s Macquarie’s Chair for a shoot back of the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Fort Denison. Then experience the Chinese Garden of Friendship, Sea Life Sydney Aquarium.
3:30pm - Dinner at Dudley Park Reserve before a sunset shoot back towards the Sydney CBD.
7:30pm - This year’s magical journey starts at the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House with huge Siamese fighting fish in Splendens, a big, joyful and spectacular welcome to the Vivid Light Walk 2017. (B,D)
Day 3 - 28th May
7:30am – On the road to the beautiful Blue Mountains and Govetts Leap Blackheath to view an amazing sunrise.
8:30am – Breakfast at the Blackheath Bakery, after breakfast we visit Wentworth Falls, The Three Sisters, and the Giant Stairway.
4:30pm - Sunset at Hargraves Lookout Blackheath, which provides magnificent views over the rural Megalong Valley.
7pm – Dinner in the Blue Mountains.
9pm – Drive back to Sydney after a long day in the mountains. (B, L, D)
Day 4 - 29th May
8:30am - Breakfast
9:30am - 2-Hour Workshop session with Jeff to look at your images taken so far.
11:30pm - Lunch at the Sydney Fish Markets, which offers the opportunity to experience all the color and variety of the largest markets in the southern hemisphere.
7:30pm – After dinner we take a short walk to the Sydney Harbour that brims with light, and the best contemporary music artists in town take centre stage for Vivid Live. (B,L,D)
Day 5 - 30th May 8am - Breakfast 10am - Ferry ride to Manly Beach and photo shoot. 3pm - Sydney Harbour Bridge for our Bridge Climb. 6pm - Dinner 7:30pm - Vivid Photo Shoot. (B, D) Day 6 - 31st May 6am - Sunrise shoot
8am - Breakfast
9:30am Photo shoot at the Queen Victoria Building (QVB).
12:30pm - Lunch
2pm - South coast drive
7:30pm - Vivid Shoot. Day 7 - 1st June 5:30am - Sunrise shoot at world famous Bondi beach.
7am - Breakfast
8:30am - Walk along the beach front esplanade to various Sydney beaches.
12:30pm - Lunch on the Bondi beach esplanade.
2pm - More photographic opportunities around Watson's Bay.
6pm - Dinner
8pm - Vivid Photo Shoot. (B, L, D)
Day 8 – 2nd June
8am - Breakfast
9am - Join Jeff for a walk around the Sydney Rock Markets and take amazing images from under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and surrounding locations.
11am - Photo walk around Sydneys Kings X.
6pm – Dinner at Sydney’s oldest hotel - The Old Fitzroy Hotel Kings Cross.
7:30pm - Vivid Photo shoot. (B, D)
Day 9 – 3rd June
8am - Breakfast
10am - Ferry ride to the Zoo.
1pm - Lunch then FREE time to wander around Sydney.
6pm - Dinner (B, D)
Day 10 – 4th June
8:30am - Breakfast
10:30am - Final Workshop session.
12:30pm - Lunch
2pm - Photo walk around Sydney.
4pm - Return to accommodation to freshen up.
5:30pm - Meet in the foyer of our hotel and then enjoy a short walk to the King Street Wharf to board a Majestic Cruise where you can feast on a deluxe dinner buffet and choose from a premium selection of beverages.
The sumptuous buffet features fresh seafood, a selection of hot and cold dishes, salads and desserts – all prepared to perfection. Enjoy a stroll on the outer decks and farewell Sydney. (B, L, D)

SEASONALITY / WEATHER AND CLOTHING
June is the "dry" season (June-November) there are lower day time tempretures, humidity and generally, much less rainfall with temperatures at their most comfortable. Pack a warm jacket, jumper, hat or woollen beanie, walking shoes.
TRANSPORT AND TRAVEL CONDITIONS
Land transport provided will be an air-conditioned bus. Many walking tours on uneven surfaces.
Mid-range (4 star), well-located, heated, simple hotels and inns throughout. All hotels have en suite toilet and bath, though some will have shower only (no tub).
